The updated TIFF import filter addresses two problems you may encounter when using the following third-party plug-ins with Adobe InDesign for Windows:
ShadowCaster (by a lowly apprentice production / alap)
The ShadowCaster plug-in creates shadows behind text and graphic objects in InDesign. With certain types of low-resolution JPEG files, ShadowCaster cannot cast shadows in InDesign files. Installing the updated TIFF import filter corrects this problem.
InPrint (by a lowly apprentice production / alap
The InPrint plug-in exports snapshots of a selected area in an InDesign document to different file formats, including TIFF. When InDesign documents contain certain types of low-resolution JPEG files, InPrint cannot export usable TIFF files. Installing the updated TIFF import filter corrects this problem.
