Adobe DNG Converter and Camera Raw 2.3 update - Japanese

This update contains both the new Adobe DNG Converter and the Camera Raw 2.3 update.

Adobe DNG Converter
Introducing Digital Negative, an open format for digital camera raw files. The Adobe DNG Converter, a free utility that converts files from more than 65 cameras to DNG, enables you to easily convert camera-specific raw files to a more universal DNG raw file. Please visit the Camera Raw page for a complete list of supported cameras.

Digital Negative was developed to address the lack of an open standard for the proprietary and unique raw files created by each digital camera. DNG allows photographers to archive their raw camera files in a single format, for easy cataloging and access in the future. With the format specification freely available, any developer can build software that supports and takes advantage of DNG. For more information, visit the Digital Negative page.

Need help with downloading? See our Downloading Help documents.

For DNG Converter:
There is no installer for the DNG Converter. Double-click the DNG Converter icon to launch the application.

For Camera Raw 2.3:
This new version of the Camera Raw plug-in replaces the original Camera Raw plug-in that was installed with Photoshop CS as well as the 2.1 and 2.2 updates. Before you copy or move the new plug-in into your plug-in folder (see steps 2 and 3 below for the specific folder), move the existing Camera Raw plug-in to a folder outside the Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins folder, for example, into a new folder on the desktop. Remember where you put the original plug-in, in case you ever need to revert back to it.

To install:

1. Exit Photoshop CS.
2. Move the existing plug-in, Camera Raw.8bi, from the Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\File Formats folder to a folder outside the plug-ins folder.
3. Copy or move the new Camera Raw plug-in from your download folder to the Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\File Formats folder.
