Adobe Updater 5.1.1 update

The Adobe Updater 5.1.1 update adds support for FileVault and includes reduced CPU usage, download speed improvements, and better Leopard (Mac OS X v10.5) networking with proxy servers. After you download and apply this 5.1.1 update, Adobe Updater will again offer appropriate product updates when you choose Help > Updates.

System requirements

The Adobe Updater 5.1.1 update requires that Adobe® Creative Suite® 3 software or a Creative Suite 3 level product such as Adobe Photoshop® CS3, Adobe Acrobat® 8, or Adobe Reader® 8 is installed on your system.

Installation Instructions

You can update to version 5.1.1 in one of two ways:

Update manually by downloading and installing the update:
1. Click the Download button on this page.
2. After the file finishes downloading to your hard drive, double-click the Setup.app after mounting (double-clicking) the DMG file.

Update automatically using the Adobe Updater (as long as FileVault is turned off):
1. Choose Help > Check For Updates.
2. Authenticate as required.
3. Select "Download and install."
