Adding a keyframe to alter an animation path

A keyframe is the main tool for controlling an animation. You can only change the properties of an object you've added to a timeline in a keyframe. Each animation begins with two keyframes—a beginning position and an ending position. You add additional keyframes to an animation bar as needed to create the desired animation.

Next, you'll learn how to add a keyframe to an animation bar and change the path a layer takes as it travels across a page.

To add a keyframe:

1 In the Timelines panel, click the keyframe in the animation bar where you want the new action to begin.

The playback head moves to the selected frame.
2 Do one of the following to add a keyframe:
Select Modify > Timelines > Add Keyframe.
Right-click and select Add Keyframe.
Dreamweaver adds a keyframe in the animation bar.
3 In the Document window, drag the layer to the position on the page where you want it displayed when the playback head reaches this frame.

4 Press F12 to preview the animation in a browser.
