Setting animation timing

The sample file contains three animations in a single timeline. First, text moves in a path across the screen, then the Destinations image moves to the right of the page, and finally a menu appears below the Destinations image. To create this type of animation, the Timelines panel was used to make timing adjustments.

Timeline adjustments you can make include lengthening and shortening the amount of time it takes an animation to play, and moving an animation in the timeline so that it begins in a particular frame of the timeline. You affect the timing by moving keyframe positions in the animation bar.

To lengthen or shorten the amount of time it takes to complete a motion:

1 In the Timelines panel's animation bar, click the keyframe you want to move.
2 Drag the keyframe to a new frame number in the animation channel.
Increasing the number of frames between keyframes lengthens the amount of time it takes the motion to complete; decreasing the number of frames between keyframes shortens the time.
Note: If you drag the end keyframe to lengthen the timeline, any keyframes within the timeline are proportionately spaced to their original position preserving the flow of the timeline.
To move the entire animation bar:

1 Click anywhere between two keyframes to select the animation bar.
2 Drag the animation bar to its new position.
