Showing and hiding layers
You can show or hide a layer in a timeline by changing its visibility property.
In the sample file, the destinations menu buttons that suddenly appear on the right side of the page demonstrates using a timeline to show and hide a layer.
To show or hide a layer:
| 1 |
Add a layer to the timeline. |
| 2 |
Click the first keyframe on the layer's animation bar. |
| 3 |
In the Property inspector, set the layer's visibility property to the state you want it to be in when the animation begins playing by selecting Visible to show the object or Hidden to hide it. |
| 4 |
In the Timelines panel's animation bar, add a keyframe where you want the visibility change to occur. |
| 5 |
With the keyframe selected, use the Property inspector to change the layer's visibility property. |
|
Note: If you want the layer to change visibility again, for example, when another keyframe is reached or at the end of the timeline, click the keyframe where you want to change the layer's visibility and change it. |
