View a results page with no matching records

If a user conducts a search and no matching records are found in the database, the results page still displays page elements that accompany a list of found records. In the case of The Wildlife Project sample application, the table that contains the sentence "Here is the contact information you requested," appears on a results page that contains no results, even when the sentence is not needed.

For example, when a user conducts a search for Wildlife Project branches in California, the results page returns the following results:

If a user conducts a search for Wildlife Project branches in Texas, however, the results page returns no results.

In the next sections of this tutorial, you'll learn how to hide certain display elements of the results page so that users won't see them when no matching records are found. You'll also learn how to add a message to the page that alerts users when no matching records are found.
