FAQ for the Adobe AIR 1.5 update for Adobe Fireworks CS4

1. Does the Adobe® AIR® update affect the functionality of Adobe Fireworks® CS4 software?
   • No. Only the AIR file creation feature is updated.
2. How do I know that I have successfully installed the update?
   • The menu path changes from Commands > Create AIR Package to Commands > Create AIR File. You will also notice that the Create AIR File dialog box has changed.

3. I have upgraded my AIR software development kit (SDK). Do I need to upgrade the AIR SDK for Fireworks separately?
   • Yes. The SDK in Fireworks is independent of the AIR SDK and runtime you have installed.
4. I have already upgraded the AIR SDK in other Adobe Creative Suite® 4 components (Adobe Flash®, Dreamweaver®, and so on). Do I need to upgrade the AIR SDK for Fireworks also?
   • Yes. The SDK in Fireworks is independent of the AIR SDK and runtime you have installed.
5. Does upgrading the AIR SDK in Fireworks affect the AIR SDK and runtime in other Creative Suite components?
   • No. The AIR SDK in each Creative Suite component is independent of the AIR SDK in other components and any other AIR SDK and runtime you have installed in your computer. You can continue to use them in their respective products.
6. Can I uninstall the Fireworks AIR SDK upgrade?
   • No. You cannot uninstall or downgrade the Fireworks AIR SDK upgrade.
7. Can an AIR file created with the upgraded AIR SDK work with an earlier version of the AIR runtime?
   • No. AIR files require the same version of AIR in which they were created or a later version.
8. Which files and folders are affected by the AIR SDK updater?
   • Windows®:
     • Updates the AIR SDK in <installation folder> \Adobe Fireworks CS4\Configuration\Win\Shared\AdobeAIR\SDK
     • Replaces the command file for creating an AIR file (Create AIR Package.swf) in <installation folder> \Adobe Fireworks CS4\Configuration\Commands\ with Create AIR File.swf
   • Mac OS:
     • Updates the AIR SDK in /Applications/Adobe Fireworks CS4/ Configuration/Mac/Shared/AdobeAIR/SDK
     • Replaces the command file for creating an AIR file (Create AIR Package.swf) in <installation folder> /Adobe Fireworks CS4/Configuration/Commands/ with Create AIR File.swf
