Click Options. The Flash SWF Export Options dialog box opens.

Select Maintain Appearance from Objects. Select Maintain Editability for Text if you want to edit the button text in Flash. |

Click OK. |

Type button.swf for the name of your button and then click Save. |

In Flash, create a new file, and then choose Insert > New Symbol. |

Name your symbol bitmap button, select Button as the Behavior type, and click OK.

Select the first frame of the button symbol (the Up frame) and then choose File > Import. Locate the button.swf file you just created. The three states of the button are imported. |

Select the Hit frame and then choose Insert > Clear Keyframe to remove the empty keyframe in this area. This allows the artwork in the down state to become the hit area. |

Return to the main timeline by clicking the Scene 1 tab or choosing Edit > Edit Movie. |

Choose Window > Library to open the library and drag the button symbol you just created to a layer on the timeline. |

Choose Control > Test Movie to see your button in action. |
