Saving a stroke
Any custom stroke you create can be saved and reused later in the current document. Strokes are saved in the stroke category where you began editing them.
Also, you can save a stroke as a style so that you can share it between documents or with another Fireworks user.
To save a custom stroke:
| 1 |
Choose Save Stroke As from the Stroke panel Options pop-up menu.
 |
| 2 |
Enter a name for the stroke and click OK. |
|
Your stroke appears in the Stroke name pop-up menu under the currently active Stroke category. |
 |
|
To save a stroke as a style so that it can be reused in another document:
| 1 |
Create a path with the stroke settings you want. |
| 2 |
With the path selected, choose New Style from the Styles panel Options pop-up menu, or click the New Style button at the bottom of the Styles panel. |
| 3 |
Enter a name for the style and choose Stroke Type and Stroke Color in the New Style dialog box. Deselect all other options. |
| 4 |
Click OK. |
| 5 |
Select the newly created style on the Styles panel. |
| 6 |
Choose Export Styles from the Styles panel Options pop-up menu. |
| 7 |
Enter a name and location for the saved styles document and then click Save. |
 |

The newly created style appears in the Styles panel each time you launch Fireworks. To use saved styles in Fireworks on another computer, import them from your saved style file using the Import Styles command in the Styles panel Options pop-up menu.
