Video object properties

Embedded and linked video appear in the Library as Embedded Video and Linked Video symbols, respectively. You can view and set properties of a video symbol by selecting it in the Library and choosing Properties from the Library panel's pop-up menu, or by double-clicking the symbol in the Library.

Embedded Video Properties dialog box
From this dialog box, you can update an imported video that you have edited in an external application, import another video to replace an embedded video, or export the embedded video as a Macromedia Flash Video file (FLV).

An exported FLV file retains the video compression settings you applied when you imported the clip. You can then import the FLV into another document without having to recompress the video.

Click Update to re-import the original source video clip using the compression settings you applied during the original import. Click Import to replace the embedded video with another clip.

Note: FLV files can currently only be imported while authoring—not during playback.

Linked Video Properties dialog box
You can set the path of a linked QuickTime to another file from the Linked Video Properties dialog box.
