In Flash, create or open the movie that you want to publish. |

Choose File > Publish Settings. |

For Type, select Flash (if it is not already selected) and RealPlayer in the Format tab. |

Click the Flash tab. For Version, select Flash 4 or earlier. |

Click the RealPlayer tab. |

For Tuning, select Export Tuned to include a tuned Flash file with the published movie. |

To adjust the bit rate for the tuned Flash file, drag the slider or enter a value between 1 and 100. |

Select Adjust Bit Rate On Publish to enable you to manually reset the bit rate when publishing the movie. |

This option allows you to see how many seconds are required to buffer the movie for the lowest selected target audience. |

For RealAudio, select Export Audio to export stream sound in the movie file in RealAudio format. |

If you selected Export Audio, choose one of the following: |

Single Rate streams sound for one target audience only. |
 |
SureStream streams sound for multiple target audiences. SureStream automatically switches to a lower bit rate during poor network conditions. |

For Format, select one of the following to compress the stream sound: |

Voice Only applies compression suitable for voice with no background sound. |
 |
Voice With Background Music applies compression suitable for voice with background sound |
 |
Music applies compression suitable for mono music |
 |
Music in Stereo applies compression suitable for stereo music |

Select a target audience option. |

For SMIL, select Export SMIL to export a SMIL file with the published movie. The SMIL file synchronizes playback of the tuned Flash file and the RealAudio stream in the RealPlayer. |

Click Project Properties to include information about the project with the published movie. |

In the Project Properties dialog box, enter information in the specified text fields to identify the movie by title, author, copyright data, keywords, and description, and click OK. |

When you have finished selecting Publish settings, do one of the following: |

Click Publish to generate the published files (including the tuned Flash file, the RealAudio file, and the SMIL file, as specified). If you selected Adjust Bit Rate On Publish in step 8, adjust the bitrate in the Publish for RealPlayer dialog box as desired and click OK. The published files are saved to the same location as the FLA file. |

Click OK to save the Publish settings with the FLA file and close the Publish Settings dialog box without publishing the file. |
