Macromedia Online Forums

Using Macromedia Online Forums News Interface

The Macromedia Online Forums are an efficient way to organize multiple discussions. You can access the Online Forums using your web browser, or alternatively, use your news reader to connect directly to our news (NNTP) server.

Please Note: Posts made via our news (NNTP) interface do not appear immediately on the Macromedia Online Forums web interface, you may notice a 10-30 minute difference between the time you post your message and the time it appears on the web-based Forums. Please be patient if you do not see your message appear immediately on the web site. Newsreader posts should appear immediately to all other newsgroup users, however. Also, the extended features of the Macromedia Forums web interface (including private messages, 'answering' threads and email subscriptions) are not available to you when connecting to the Forums with a newsreader.

To access the Macromedia Online Forums using the news interface, point your newsreader software to our newsgroup server, forums.macromedia.com. You do not need a username and password to access our forums using the newsgroup interface.

Macromedia Online Forums are replicated to Usenet, but are not part of the Usenet network itself- so you must either participate using a web browser, or set up your NNTP news reader to directly connect to forums.macromedia.com. It is possible that your ISP may let you subscribe to the macromedia.* newsgroups directly from their own news server, but we cannot guarantee posts will be accepted by our forums unless you connect directly to our newsgroup server address, forums.macromedia.com.

If you need assistance configuring or using your NNTP newsreader software, please contact either your Internet service provider, or the manufacturer of your newsreader client.

For additional information, please refer to the Macromedia Online Forums Posting Guidelines, as well as Using Online Forums with a Web Browser if you would prefer to participate in our Online Forums using a standard web browser.
