FreeHand tutorial: Illustration basics

This tutorial, the first in a two-part series, guides you through the basic tasks of designing illustrations with Macromedia FreeHand MX. You'll get hands-on experience using FreeHand and learn basic graphic design concepts along the way.

Although this tutorial is designed for those who are new to FreeHand and illustration, it covers many new features in FreeHand, so experienced illustrators and FreeHand users can benefit from it too. You don't need to be a graphic designer to complete this tutorial, but you should have basic computer skills and be able to use common desktop applications.

By working through this tutorial, you'll accomplish the tasks required to create a product logo. The tutorial takes approximately 1 hour to complete, depending upon your experience, and covers the following topics and tasks:
