Adobe understands the important role photographers play in the creative process. The Adobe Photographers Directory enables designers, art directors and image buyers a consolidated resource for locating professional photographers by a given specialty in a certain city. To help facilitate the image acquisition process and the creative partnership, Adobe has announced that it will expand the current North American based Adobe Photographers Directory to include global professional photography associations. The Adobe Photographers Directory will be searchable by city, state and country as well as by photography specialty. The directory can be accessed directly via the Favorites tab in Adobe Bridge located in Creative Suite 2 and Photoshop CS2. The Adobe Photographers Directory will also be available on Adobe.com and Adobe Studio.
The Adobe Photographers Directory will include photographers located in the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States, Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway. Adobe's goal is to develop a comprehensive and international directory of top professional photographers and provide a conduit to connect professional photographers to its customers --- art directors, graphic designers and image buyers. The directory allows the user to locate a photographer in the United Kingdom if they are planning to do a shoot there.
The Adobe Photographers Directory allows designers, art directors and image buyers a consolidated global and searchable directory of professional photographers by specialty. The directory gives them a consolidated place to search for photographers that are qualified members of photography associations around the world. For photographers it gives them exposure to users of Adobe industry standard design software. These users have access to the images that represent a photographer's skill and specialty directly from the Creative Suite 2 and Photoshop CS2 via Adobe Bridge.
In order to ensure that the photographers listed in the Adobe Photographers Directory are professional photographers, Adobe will be initially working with professional photography associations in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The Adobe Photographers Directory membership will be initially limited to the members of participating professional photographer associations. Adobe will be adding support for additional organizations as new associations are identified and relationships are developed.
Over time, Adobe has plans to expand its comprehensive listing beyond professional associations to include qualified professionals who are not affiliated with an organization but during this early phase of the Adobe Photographers Directory, membership is limited to professional photographers who are members of professional photographer associations in North America and Europe.

The mission of the Adobe Photographers Directory is to create a comprehensive listing of professional photographers from around the world. Adobe has decided to initially work with the key professional associations that vet professional working photographers as part of their process. Adobe is aware that there are many photographers who are not members of a professional association; therefore we will also be working with the industry to find ways to create a directory that truly reflects the composition of the professional photography community. We are currently inviting independent professional photographers in France to join the directory.
