Error "The log file...is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue" When Uninstalling Acrobat 5.0 for Windows

Issue

When you use the Add/Remove Programs utility to uninstall Adobe Acrobat 5.0 for Windows, Windows returns the error, "The log file '[drive letter]:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\NT\uninst.isu' is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue," and you are unable to uninstall Acrobat.

Solution

Delete the uninst.isu file from the [operating system] folder (for example, the NT folder or the 98 folder) in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Acrobat 5.0. Then reinstall Acrobat 5.0, and uninstall it using the Add/Remove Programs utility.
