Connecting to a server database from a Macintosh for UltraDev 1

If you're a Macintosh user, you must use a JDBC driver to connect to a Microsoft Access database (or any ODBC data source) on a server. If you don't currently have a JDBC driver, you can install the client and server components of the RmiJdbc driver available on the UltraDev CD and on the UltraDev Support Center. The RmiJdbc driver allows you to connect to the Access database at run time and "view" the database at design time.

The RmiJdbc driver consists of two components: a client and a server component. This document describes how to install the client component on a Macintosh and on a Windows system. It also describes how to install the server component in Windows NT Server.

You can find more in-depth documentation on the RmiJdbc Web site. This document is not meant to replace or supersede any documentation on the RmiJdbc site. It is meant as a tutorial on how to use the RmiJdbc driver with Dreamweaver UltraDev.
