XML variables
In Adobe® Illustrator®, you can turn any piece of artwork into an SVG template for data-driven graphics. The Variables palette allows designers to define which objects in the illustration are static (unchanging) and which are dynamic (changeable). This palette allows users to create variable text strings, linked images, graph data, and visibility settings of objects.
By previewing different Data Sets, designers can customize their templates to work with the data sources. If the Data Sets are created externally as XML data, designers can also import variable content by the Load Variable Library command. These new features enable an XML workflow with SVG at the center where designers generate graphic templates, and developers provide the dynamic content.
