Brian Reedy has been teaching since 1995. In 1999 he began teaching video production and in 2008 he also began teaching digital photography. While in college he as the newspaper's photo editor and majored in photography at California State University, Fullerton. He also worked in industry for a few years. In 2007 Reedy helped to write the Nevada State Skill Standards for Digital Video and Broadcast Production. In 2013 he joined the team writing the state standards for photography.
By encouraging creativity and teaching strong technical and design skills, he feels his students can put passion and skill into developing amazing final products. Reedy encourages his students to participate in SkillsUSA. His video and photo students have won state awards and competed at the National level in both photo and video. His students always finish in the top ten in the nation, including both a second place and ninth place finish in video, and a second place finish in photography.
Every year his students do community service projects. In 2005 and 2006 his students placed in the top ten in the country for driver awareness videos for Project Ignition and State Farm. They received a letter of proclamation from and met with the governor. Reedy has also been recognized with numerous teaching awards.
