Students and teachers
Education individual purchasers
Qualified education individuals purchasing for use on their personally owned computers may purchase Adobe Student and Teacher Editions or Adobe education editions at significant discounts. Qualified individuals include:
- University and college students — students enrolled at a higher education institution defined as an accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two years of full-time study
- Primary and secondary school students — students enrolled at an accredited public or private primary or secondary school providing full-time instruction
- Faculty and staff — teachers and staff employed by an accredited primary or secondary school or public or private university or college
Proof of eligibility
Students
Students must provide a photocopy of a valid, current student ID that includes the student's name, start or end dates that confirm current enrollment, and a photo.
If the student does not have such an ID (for example, the student photo ID does not specify dates that confirm current enrollment), he or she must instead provide a photocopy of a valid student or other photo ID and one of the following items:
- Official, current non-photo student ID with name and date
- Official, current school transcript indicating name of school and student
- Official, current school tuition bill indicating name of school and student
- Official, current report card indicating name of school and student
- Other official dated proof of enrollment
Note: Only one valid photo ID, student or otherwise, is required.
Students who are under 18 and do not have a valid photo ID may provide an official letter from their eligible educational institution stating their name and current enrollment status.
Teachers, faculty, and staff
Teachers, faculty, and staff must provide a photocopy of a valid, current school ID that includes the educator’s name, date, and a photo. If the educator does not have such an ID, he or she must instead provide a photocopy of a valid photo ID and one of the following items:
- Faculty or staff paycheck stub
- Official letter from the registrar of the educational institution

Educational establishment purchasers
Qualified individuals purchasing on behalf of an accredited educational institution can purchase education editions, which make a broader set of Adobe products than Student and Teacher Editions available at a discounted price.

Qualified examples
"Educational Establishment" means:
- Accredited public or private primary, secondary, or higher education school providing full-time instruction. This includes nursery schools, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, grammar schools, schools for the handicapped, teacher training colleges, technical colleges, further education colleges, research institutes, adult education centres, and State run or State subsidised facilities for the retraining of the unemployed.
Note: School Site Licences are available to qualifying public and nonpublic schools only, located at a single address. These site licences are not available for sale or use by postsecondary or higher education institutions. - Administrative offices or boards of education of Educational Establishments (for their own use)
- Home schools approved in writing by Adobe in its sole discretion
- Government schools located in the Territory
- Named educational entities approved by Adobe, only if individual named entities are approved by Adobe in writing if not already listed by Adobe on its website
- Hospitals that are wholly owned and operated by an Educational Establishment. Wholly owned and operated means the Educational Establishment is sole owner of the hospital and the only entity exercising control over day-to-day operations.
- Education research laboratories that are a public establishment and recognised as such, teach students as part of their research mission, and can provide a copy of bylaws that state the relationship with the controlling university
- Educational consortiums and systems: Corporations and associations validly organised and existing under the laws of the Territory, whereby each member or shareholder of which is an accredited school
- Other qualified examples as listed by Adobe from time to time on its website
Nonqualified examples
- Nonaccredited schools
- Museums
- Hospitals not wholly owned and operated by an Educational Establishment
- Churches
- Religious organisations that are not accredited schools
- Libraries
- Training centres or schools granting certificates for courses such as computer software training or job training that are not accredited schools that grant degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time study
- Military schools that do not grant academic degrees
- Other nonqualified examples as listed by Adobe from time to time on its website
Appropriate identification
The Adobe Academic Reseller Authorization requires resellers to authenticate qualified educational end users according to the following policies for appropriate identification. This information is part of the signed agreement between Adobe and the reseller.
Educational entity
- Definition. For a purchase by an educational entity, appropriate identification means:
- A valid, official purchase order issued by an educational entity; or
- Current credit card information with the proper name, billing address, and "ship to" or delivery address of the educational entity; or
- A current personal credit card or cheque payment from Individuals who are faculty or staff with a "ship to" or delivery address of the educational entity; or
- Such other appropriate identification as permitted by Adobe from time to time by posting a list of such appropriate identification on its website
