Automatically detect objects in a photo
When you choose the Object Selection tool, the Object Finder analyzes the image and identifies the different objects in the scene. In addition to objects, it can also detect regions, like the sky, the ground, or a body of water.
Click to select an object
To see the objects Photoshop found, move the Object Selection tool over the image and view the colored overlays. To select an object, move your cursor over a colored overlay and click.
Tell Photoshop what objects to select
In addition to using the Object Finder to automatically identify an object, you can use the rectangle or lasso tool in the Options bar to tell Photoshop what you want to select. Make a loose selection around an object with either of those options, and Photoshop will contract the selection to fit the object. These options are also useful for adding to or subtracting from a selection made with the Object Selection tool.
