John and Marva move to California
After living in Canada and Washington DC, John moves to California and works with Dave Evans and Ivan Sutherland on Illiac IV Project at Ames Research at Moffet Field, and then in Mountain View on flight simulators for NASA.

Chuck arrives at Xerox PARC
He begins working as a Principal Scientist and Researcher in the Computer Sciences Lab at Xerox’s Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), a research and development company with a distinguished reputation for its contributions to information technology and hardware systems.

Chuck hires John
Their partnership begins when John becomes a researcher for Xerox PARC.
