Complete the first lesson in the series, Install Flash Media Server 4.5 and verify streaming.
Flash Media Server (Download trial)
In this lesson, we’ll deliver a single live stream over HTTP to Flash and iOS. We’ll use Strobe Media Playback as our Flash media player and an iPad as our iOS device.
This workflow has three steps:
- Use Flash Media Live Encoder to capture and encode the stream and send it to Flash Media Server.
- Flash Media Server and its customized Apache HTTP Server automatically package the content for Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) and Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS).
- Request the live stream over HTTP from both the Flash media player and from an iPad.
