This first release of the Adobe After Effects CS3 SDK contains updated Universal Binary sample projects, required for native operation on Intel-based Macs.
All samples and documentation have been updated. Several more effects have been updated to use SmartFX messaging, which is required for 32 bit-per-channel pixel processing. Numerous AEGP API enhancements improve After Effects' inter-application responsiveness. Please see the Readme file for more information.

Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2005.
Macintosh OS X 10.4 or later (10.4 Universal SDK), and XCode 2.4.1 or later. Metrowerks CodeWarrior Pro 9.3 sample projects are no longer provided.
You will also need Adobe Reader software to view the PDF documentation.
Support for development specific to version 7.0 ended January 30, 2008. The CS3 SDK can be used to develop 7.0 compatible plug-ins.
