Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I lived in Berlin, Germany for the last decade where I collaborated with musicians and artists in the city's vibrant nightlife scene. I also worked at boutique cultural agency, Kemmler Kemmler and global agency Anomaly as a designer and art director. Last year I relocated to Portland to work at Wieden & Kennedy as a senior designer.

I have a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Melbourne and a bachelor of visual communication from Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee.
My hybrid practice and background in fine arts allows me to combine a range of methods and processes to create unique visual worlds.

Karen Koch is a Design Director with over 15 years of experience leading brand transformations and integrated campaigns for global names including Levis, Expedia, and Lilly as well as local names including Travel Portland, Oregon State University, and Kachka Restaurant Group. Known for a balance of creativity and strategic clarity, she specializes in developing design systems, visual identities, and brand experiences that connect deeply with audiences. Karen’s work has been recognized by CLIO and CANES awards and featured in Communication Arts, Print, and Graphis. Having led multidisciplinary teams across digital, experiential, and packaging design, she leads with a belief that great design happens when strategy, experimentation, and collaboration align.
