Meta is expanding its Advantage+ Catalog ads to partnership promotions, adding a new option to display additional products from your catalog when promoting a preferred product set. In addition, Meta is trying a new AI model display to show how apparel looks on different sized AI-generated characters. Other updates include AI text generation for catalog ads, AI image generation tools, and expanding access to its location-based ad extensions.

Facebook adds Stories to Creator Monetization Program

Creators in the Facebook Creator Monetization Program have previously been able to earn on their videos, Reels, and photo and text posts. This new update allows creators to also earn money from their Story content.

Meta launches revamped friends tab

Facebook launched an updated friends tab which includes a feed of posts, stories, and Reels shared by your connections on Facebook.

Instagram previews Edits app features

As Instagram prepares to launch “Edits,” its new video editing app, some upcoming features include: a “Projects” tab to access all-video content, a “Cutouts” tool to isolate specific elements in a clip, and a “Made with Edits” tag that will display on clips when uploaded to Instagram.

Instagram experiments with AI-generated comments on posts

Some users are seeing a “pencil with a star” icon within the comments field that, when tapped, generates some suggestions of comments.

Instagram removes Notes from feed posts and Reels

Due to lack of use, Instagram decided to remove the ability to add text notes to feed posts and Reels. This helps avoid overloading the app with too many features.

Instagram adds double speed playback option for Reels

As on TikTok, Instagram added the ability to watch videos at double speed by pressing and holding down on the screen.

X adds new video options

X is adding a new option that will allow users to react to content with a video reply over an existing post. You will also be able to overlay an isolated video of yourself on screen over a video – similar to TikTok’s green-screen effect. LinkedIn improves Predictive Audiences ad targeting

Predictive Audiences uses AI to build audience profiles based on a combination of your own data and LinkedIn’s insights. With these new improvements you can now input company lists to expand your targeting capacity, as well as add retargeting sources.

Premium users can add a “Book an appointment” CTA button to their profiles that allows other users to book a meeting directly using the new Calendly integration.

LinkedIn is working on improving its Campaign Manager with a heap of new features including a new “Media Planner” to forecast the results of a campaign before it’s launched, an option to duplicate ads across campaigns and accounts, the ability to automate UTM generation, as well as a newly updated dashboard , overview display, and new measurement insights. In addition, LinkedIn will be adding a new AI-driven campaign performance digest on the Campaign Summary Page to provide text explainers to help users understand their results.

TikTok

TikTok rolls out more teen safety elements

TikTok is rolling out three new features intended to help parents manage their teenagers’ activity on TikTok. A new Family Pairing feature allows parents to block TikTok on their children’s device at chosen times of the day. They’ll also be able to see who their teen follows, who follows them, and who their teen has blocked. A “Wind Down” feature is also being introduced which will interrupt the feed to encourage those under 16 to leave the app at night.

TikTok expands its in-app shopping push in Europe

TikTok is said to be planning to launch TikTok Shop tools to businesses in France, Germany, and Italy after seeing initial success in the UK.

TikTok adds new options for sellers

Some new improvements are rolling out to give sellers more flexibility, including the ability to automate approval of aftersales requests (such as returns, refunds, replacements, and cancelations), the ability to exclude PO box deliveries, and custom cancelation and return time windows. TikTok will also let fashion sellers set specific items in their store as “final sale” and all retailers will be able to set custom handling times to process orders.
