Week in Sparks: UofO’s “Lucious Fox,” Clemson’s Previously Untold Stories, and How a Dancer Engages Her Community

With college students going back-to-the-dorms and sports teams prepping for homecoming, our social feeds have been flooded with college pride. Meanwhile, a choreographer gets real with her audience and a small print publication drives subscriptions with visual teaser content. Here are the Sparks that lit up our social media this week!

Social Media Moment of the Week
A great way to learn about how your audience wants to engage with you is to simply ask. Choreographer and creator of movement therapy YOGANCE Tamara Levinson-Campos has built an impressive following on Instagram and Snapchat around incredible videos of her dancing in her front yard. But her super-human body control isn’t the only reason more than 129,000 people follow her. She also posts lessons on her unique yoga-dance hybrid creation, inspirational talks, and highlights other performing artists. Always refining her content, she recently tapped her audience for suggestions to great results, garnering more than 50 suggestions from her most engaged fans.

The Stories that Need to Be Told
We love seeing important stories told with Spark. Associate professor of English at Clemson University whose research focuses on 19th-century African American literature and culture has compiled her extensive research into a visual story documenting the contributions of African Americans in Clemson’s rich education history.
