Mark Jamra is a type designer, graphic designer and Associate Professor at Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. He has designed and produced typefaces for 30 years. His lettering and typefaces have been shown in numerous exhibitions and have received awards from the Type Directors Club (TDC) and the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI). He has lectured, conducted workshops and taught graphic design, type design and history at colleges in the U.S. and Europe. He has also been a typographic consultant to the Hewlett-Packard Research Laboratories in Bristol, England and to URW Software & Type GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. His typeface designs include Latienne™, ITC Jamille™, Expo Sans™, Expo Serif™, Tacitus™, Alphatier™ and Kinesis Pro™. He also designed Brynmorgen™ Greek (inspired by Adobe Caslon™), for the exclusive use of Brynmorgen Press in Maine. Mark also creates short documentary videos and collaborates regularly with Alice Design Communication, a multi-disciplinary design studio.
