5 Website Designs That Will Wow You

While a beautiful website will draw attention at first glance, the experience your customers have engaging with your site will decide whether first impressions are lasting, or not.

Beauty is only screen deep, and the biggest challenge you’ll face in developing your website is striking a balance between style and functionality. A slick and stylish site will only get you so far if it’s difficult to navigate and has excessive loading times.

It’s not always easy to create a quality web design, but we’ve picked out five of our favourite business websites from around the Asia-Pacific region to inspire you.

1. Make your products the hero, like Arome Bakery

(Hong Kong)

By Curious Few

Creative Cloud apps used: Photoshop, Illustrator, XD

Hong Kong’s Arome Bakery is known for beautifully crafted visuals across its communications and, when asked to redevelop their ecommerce platform from the ground up, agency Curious Few knew it needed to complement its marketing. The rebuild reduced the number of interface elements on the site to allow the brand’s visual identity to really shine. The result speaks for itself with a high-end, elegant yet cute style that makes the bakery’s delicious treats the heroes. It makes our mouths water.

2. Show what you do and why you do it, like Taronga Conservation Society Australia

(Australia)

By Present Company

Taronga Conservation Society in Sydney does incredible work to protect wildlife through conservation, education, research and experiences at its zoos, and its website not only demonstrate its work, but supports it. The design of the site uses stunning emotive visuals and a mobile-first user experience that engages and inspires users. Users coming to the site to buy zoo tickets presents a great opportunity to further engage them in the conservation work the society does and help educate them on ways to protect the environment and wildlife, and the site UX facilitates this with aplomb.

3. Reflect your values in your style, like Love, Bonito

(Singapore)

By Alex Davies

Creative Cloud apps: Photoshop, Animate

Women’s fashion brand Love, Bonito is built on the belief that fashion is a tool for people to be the best version of themselves. The brand exists to “help you find the clothes that let you be you”. Its website does a fantastic job showcasing this with aspiring, joyful visuals and a welcoming and simple style. The clean, simplistic yet exclusive personality is reflected in the entire user experience which is concise, clear and, most importantly, puts the customer at the forefront throughout which further ties in with the brand values. We absolutely love the style finder that combines functionality and design to make it easy to find the perfect outfit for any occasion.

4. Let your site do the talking, like Lunit Inc.

(South Korea)

By Lunit

Creative Cloud apps used: Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, XD

A technology company’s website, arguably more than any other, needs to be sharp, intuitive and engaging. Korea’s Lunit Inc., a medical AI software company, delivers a crisp design that deviates enough from the norm without making the user experience being unnecessarily complex. It recognises the key information users will be most interested in and is designed to navigate them through this content. The design has simplicity and a sleekness that communicates the brand’s key values and demonstrates what they do and how they do it.

5. Create an experience that matches your brand personality, like Mieu Eyewear

(China)

By Koma Design for Mieu Eyewear

Creative Cloud apps used: Photoshop, XD, After Effects

Chinese eyewear company Mieu’s website delivers a clean, modern and highly visual experience that reflects the brands unique style and brings the products to the fore. In designing the site, Koma Design wanted to create an interface that matched the temperament of the products and personality of the brand. We love the large, image-driven style of the site, in particular the animations that drive customers to the four key pages on the site. Overall the site boldly reflects the ethos of Mieu; that glasses are not just consumer products but a medium for expressing art.
