Getting your photos organized is a crucial component for working more efficiently, as well as getting more enjoyment from your photo library.
Hi, I'm Seán Duggan with the Adobe Learn team.
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use albums in Lightroom on mobile to create an organizational structure that suits your needs and makes it easy to locate your photos.
I'm currently in the All photos view, and I'll tap on All photos in the upper left to return to the main list of albums.
The top section of this list are the albums that Lightroom automatically populates, and the lower section is where you'll find the albums that you create.
At the bottom of the list, you can see that I already have several albums where I've organized photos by a location or a topic.
Above these are a few folders.
The Shared folder is created by Lightroom and contains albums and photos that I've shared, as well as albums and photos that have been shared with me.
I'll tap the Back arrow to return to the main albums view.
The other folders are ones that I've created for further organizing My albums.
If I go into the Travel & Road Trips folder, you can see different travel related albums.
I'll tap Back in the upper left to return to the main albums list.
Let's create a new album and add some photos to it.
At the bottom of the screen, I'll tap the Create new button.
Here I can choose to create an Album or a Folder.
I'll choose Album.
I'll give the album a name and I'll tap OK.
The new album appears alphabetically in the list of My albums.
The photos that I want to add are on my device and are not yet in Lightroom, so I'll scroll up and I'll choose All photos, and then I'll tap on Device in the lower left to view the photos on my phone.
I'll tap on Recents in the upper left, so that I can view the other albums on my iPhone, and I'll select the album with the photos that I want to add.
I'll tap the three dots in the upper right corner, choose Select, and then I can tap the Checkbox next to the album name to select all the photos.
Down at the bottom, I'll choose Import and then Import & add to Lightroom album.
I'll choose the correct album, and I'll tap Import.
Now I'll tap on Lightroom in the bottom of the screen, and I'll navigate to the list of My albums, and there are the newly added photos.
If the photos that you want to add to an album are already in Lightroom, it's a similar process.
I'll go back to the All photos view and tap the three dots in the upper right corner, then choose Select.
Once I select the images, I'll tap Add to in the lower left.
On the next screen, you can either select an existing album and then tap Add in the upper right, or you can tap the + symbol and create a new album.
Another great feature about albums in Lightroom on mobile is that you can easily share an entire album and have it available as an online gallery on the web.
To do that, open an album, so that you're seeing the thumbnails of the photos.
Then tap the Share icon in the upper right.
In the next screen, you can configure the details for how the album is shared and even copy a link or a QR code to share with other people.
If you want to remove an image from an album, press on the thumbnail until it is selected and then tap Remove in the lower right.
Here you can choose to Remove the photo from the album or Delete the image.
If it's removed from the album, the photo will still be in Lightroom.
If you choose to delete images, they'll be deleted from your Lightroom photos, as well as from any albums or shared albums that you've created.
Within 60 days, you can choose to restore them back to your Lightroom photos.
After that, they'll be permanently deleted.
Albums are a great way to organize your images in a way that makes sense to you, and they're a bit like playlists for your photos.
Just like a song can be part of multiple playlists, the same photo can be included in more than one album.
All of your albums will sync across the Lightroom ecosystem and be available in Lightroom on your computer, or Lightroom on the web.
Now that you know the basics for working with albums, see how you can use them to organize your own photo library.
