What is License Advisory?

License Advisory is an Adobe team of technology and licensing subject‑matter experts dedicated to supporting customers in understanding how Adobe software is used across their organization and helping them make informed licensing decisions. Our role is advisory in nature: we work with customers to clarify usage, identify and address licensing gaps where they exist, and ensure purchases are sourced appropriately for genuine business needs.

Our Purpose

License Advisory exists to support long-term customer fairness, security and asset management. By identifying and addressing software usage issues early, we help customers reduce operational risk, improve transparency, and make confident decisions about their Adobe investments—while maintaining a respectful, customer-first experience.

How We Work With Customers

Our engagements are structured, fair, and guided by clear principles:

• Customer needs first: Recommendations are based on reasonable assessments of customer requirements, not assumptions.
• Advisory, not enforcement: License Advisory does not act as a legal authority or enforcement body.
• Transparency and collaboration: We work alongside Sales, Customer Success Managers, and other Adobe teams to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Respectful engagement: All interactions are professional, non-threatening, and focused on problem-solving.
• We are happy for customers to work with their preferred Adobe Authorized reseller(s).

What to Expect During an Engagement

A License Advisory engagement may include:

• Reviewing available entitlement and usage information
• Discussing potential licensing gaps or risks
• Exploring options to align licenses with actual needs
• Coordinating with Adobe Sales for any commercial follow-up

Customers always retain flexibility in how they purchase Adobe licenses, including buying channels, as long as usage aligns with license terms.

Data Responsibility and Trust

License Advisory treats customer and market data with care and confidentiality. Any data used is accessed only to support advisory activities, minimized to what is necessary, and handled according to Adobe’s data protection standards.
