This release is a planned update for the products listed in the table below. The latest version is always available through the product’s update mechanism, from the enterprise FTP site, and for some languages, from the Reader Download Center.

Track details

The Acrobat DC product family introduces two tracks for both Acrobat and Reader which are essentially different products: “Classic” and “Continuous.” Most end users will install the Continuous track provided from the Reader Download Center. Enterprise organizations will user either the Classic or Continuous track. For details and a comparison of the two tracks, see http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobatdctracks.

This release provides various new features for end users described in the New features summary.

New product features (BETA only)

AppContainer(Beta)

The Protected Mode sandbox for Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows can now run in AppContainer (a sandboxing technology available on Windows 8 onwards).

To enable it follow the steps below:

  • Go to the “Edit” menu in Acrobat Reader DC, Choose “Preferences”, Select “Security (Enhanced)” tab on the left, Check the “Run in AppContainer” checkbox, Restart Reader.

Security bulletin

This release provides mitigations for vulnerabilities described in the corresponding security bulletins of Reader and Acrobat.

Browser

  • 4194017: [WIN 10] Links on CEF UI and new Acrobat UI not working in browser.

  • 4182655: Print option in browser throws up bad parameter error.

Forms

  • 4193314: Selected list items is not displayed as selected.

PDFMaker

  • 4192867: Issue with dotted lines while converting word file to pdf.

  • 4167355: Legend lines appear as straight lines instead of dotted lines.

  • 4142155: Wierd text rotation and reversed image manipulation on converting word file.

  • 4135481: Hidden characters in word file appear as line in output pdf.

  • 4127898: Text disappears when converting word file (consisting of EMF image) to pdf.

  • 4193150: Crash while converting Visio document to pdf via API call.

Printing

  • 4198172: [Win 10 : RS] Black streaks appear on page when pdf is printed.

Web Connectors

  • 3801175: User gets access denied message while configuring sharepoint online account with “Stay signed in” option off.

  • 4196636: Opening sharepoint file from IE throws error if sharepoint is disabled in Acrobat/Reader from registry.
