North American Education Reseller Information

New Reseller Authorization Process

To ensure that our education customers are receiving the highest quality service possible and that education versions of our products are sold only to qualified education customers, we will be implementing a formal academic reseller authorization process in the US and Canada. This new requirement only applies to off-campus resellers who wish to sell our boxed products to education customers. We define off-campus resellers as those resellers who (a) are not part of or directly affiliated with any specific higher-education institution, but sells education-priced products to K-12 or higher-education institutions, faculty, staff, or students; or (b) any reseller that does not qualify for on-campus reseller status as determined by Macromedia. On-campus resellers and resellers who sell only volume licenses to education customers will continue to be approved by their selected distributor(s) and will not be required to apply as a MAAR at this time. Only authorized off-campus resellers will be permitted to sell boxed product, at education pricing, to qualified education customers starting June 2, 2003.

If you are an off-campus reseller and wish to continue selling boxed product to K-12 and higher-education institutions and individuals (students, faculty, administration, and staff), at education pricing, you will need to participate in the Macromedia Authorized Academic Reseller (MAAR) authorization process.

Additional information and applications to become a MAAR must be submitted at the following address at www.approvemacromedia.com.
