With the rise of virtual assistants, prototyping for voice is becoming more and more essential. Adobe XD makes this incredibly simple.
On an artboard that you wish to include a voice trigger on start by selecting any element. One of the neat things about voice triggers is that they don't need to be tied to a specific layer. Next, drag the blue handle over to the artboard you wish to transition to, and in the Properties make sure that Voice is selected as the trigger. Then type in what you'd like XD to listen out for. Once that's set, select your action of choice. In this case we'll go with auto-animate.
Now, when you go to preview your prototype, you simply need to hold down the spacebar and speak your voice command. "Show me a few of the top movies." But what's a voice powered prototype without some playback? With your second artboard selected, click on the handle to the right to set up a time trigger and then choose Speech Playback as the action. This will let you type in what do you like the prototype to speak back to you after the transition. Previewing one more time, I can kick things off with the command "Show me a few of the top movies" and then listen to one of the many voices of XD. "Here are a few of the top movies of 2019".
