Before you install the Old German dictionary files, you must remove the Reformed German dictionary files that Adobe PageMaker 7.0 installed. You cannot use both versions of the German dictionary simultaneously.
To install the Old German dictionary in Mac OS:
1. Exit PageMaker.
2. Open the Deutsch folder located in the Adobe PageMaker 7.0: RSRC: Linguists: Proximity folder.
3. Drag the following files to a different location on your hard disk (e.g., a backup folder):
Note: You do not have to remove the Alddts.udc or the Alddts.msp files. These files keep track of additions you make to the dictionary (for example, added words or hyphenation exceptions).
4. After downloading the german_dictionary_mac.sea.hqx file, follow the instructions for decompression and it gets expanded to the following Old German dictionary files:
5. Copy the Old German Alddts.bpx, Alddts.nfo, and Alddts00.vpx files into the Adobe PageMaker 7.0: RSRC: Linguists: Proximity: Deutsch folder.
6. Restart PageMaker.
To restore the original German dictionary:
You can restore the Reformed German dictionary by closing PageMaker, removing the Old German dictionary files, and reinstalling the original dictionary files from the backup folder you created. If you did not back up the Reformed German dictionary, you can perform a custom installation of the Reformed German dictionary from the Adobe PageMaker 7.0 CD.
