Converting FreeHand files to Illustrator files through scripting

The "FreeHandToAI" script imports FreeHandᆴ files into Adobeᆴ Illustratorᆴ CS4 and then saves them as AI files at the location specified by the user.

Installation Instructions

After downloading a ".zip" file, use the operating system or a utility such as WinZip or PKZIP to access the file's contents.

Steps to enable batch conversion from FreeHand files to Illustrator files:

1. Quit Illustrator CS4, if it is running.
2. Copy the script and paste it at the following location: "/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS4/Presets/en_US/Scripts."
3. Launch Illustrator CS4, choose File > Scripts and browse to the script location, and then select and open the script.
4. Select the FreeHand file location from the dialog box (the location where the FreeHand files are kept).
5. Select the output file location from the dialog box (the location where you would like to save Illustrator files).
6. The script will convert all FreeHand files from the source folder to Illustrator files in the destination folder. After all the FH files get converted to AI, an alert message will be displayed stating the number of files that were converted.
