Saving the tag file

After writing the tag file, you can save it anywhere on your application server or in the CustomTags folder in the default ColdFusion folder.

To save the tag file in your site's remote root folder or in one of its subfolders on the server, use UltraDev to upload the file from your site's local folder to the remote server by selecting it in the Site window and choosing the Put command (Site > Put).

Placing the tag file in one of your site's folders simplifies the task of managing the file, but makes it more difficult to find and use the file when developing other ColdFusion applications.

Another option is to place the tag file in the CustomTags folder in the default ColdFusion folder, Cfusion. If you choose this option, you need to place the tag file in the folder manually. If you have network access to the server, you can use Network Neighborhood (Windows) or Network Browser (Macintosh). If you don't have network access, you can use an FTP client.

Placing the tag file in the CustomTags folder lets you easily reuse the tag in other ColdFusion applications.
