Preparing students for an ever-changing working environment is no easy task. We believe students should be equipped with all the skills they need to succeed in their careers, and that encouraging digital skills has never been more important. That’s why last year, we launched a dedicated award for students to showcase their digital competencies in incredible ways. Now we’re back, with double the prizes, and we’re more excited than ever to see what your students can do.

The Digital Edge Awards celebrate those who exemplify digital literacy through creative problem solving, critical thinking, and persuasive communication skills. Two winning entrants will receive £9,250, while six runners-up will get £1,000 each.

The awards are intended, not only to enhance digital skills, but to give students a platform to showcase their work to the world – including prospective employers. That’s why we recommend anyone who’s shortlisted for this award highlights it on their CV.

With employability scores as a key deciding factor for picking a university, both students and parents favour those that go further to help set their graduates apart.

Digital skills have been found to improve employability, so give your students the edge and encourage them to use digital tools in their next assignment. You may be surprised by the quality of work, student engagement levels, and overall learning experience.

How it works.

This year, the Digital Edge Awards have two briefs – and two sets of prizes! We’re excited to see how every student uses Creative Cloud in their uni work, no matter what course they’re studying.

Don’t worry if your students have never used Creative Cloud before, the Digital Edge Awards are open to students from all backgrounds. To keep things fair, those studying art, design, and other creative courses – who are likely to be more familiar with these digital tools – will work to a different brief than those who are studying subjects less likely to work with Creative Cloud. This way, they’ll only be judged against those with a similar skillset.

The brief.

Challenge your students to reimagine a written piece.

Can your students transform a written assignment into an engaging digital piece of work with the help of Adobe Creative Cloud? We’d like them to reimagine a reflective essay. If your students have submitted projects that you believe exemplify digital literacy – and were made with Creative Cloud apps – make sure they know about the Digital Edge Awards, and enter! Get them to show us how they can make a digital masterpiece from anything.

They can enter an existing piece of work from this academic year, or reimagine an old assignment specifically for the Digital Edge Awards.

Efficiency in Architecture - Algorithmic Design

Tom’s task was to produce a 50-page document about the building he had been designing throughout the year. By opting for a graphic novel style, Tom used Illustrator and InDesign to create an engaging architectural report that invites the reader to really interact with the document.

Sarunporn’s task was to discuss and analyse a brand’s equity. This project uses Illustrator and After Effects to explore key concepts and models taught throughout her Brand Strategy module.
