Biography

Born in 1961, Günter secured a german university entrance diploma in 1981, with no subsequent study.

Besides having been a freelance musician (guitar, bass, balalaika, banjo, teaching, recording sessions from Classical music to Punk;-) for about 23 years, I started doing some (ugly of course ;-) private small-scale "static" websites in 1997 and also got the opportunity to accomplish some software & website localizations for foreign clients (e.g. Guitar Pro, Audio Compositor).

From 2000-2003 I served a couple of regional customers (mostly industry, theater and arts) with more serious/demanding websites which started to contain something that became more and more fascinating to me: PHP & database interaction. At that time Dreamweaver wsn’t affordable, so I acquired my knowledge “the hard way” by coding, reading instructions/manuals and testing approaches with care – something I still consider a virtue.

Since 2004 I’ve been employed by a former customer, a turkish building / real estate company, managing their German customer support & advertising agency. In addition to selling their homes and hanging out at property exhibitions, my major and rather self-imposed tasks were actually something much cooler: developing their multi-lingual websites, designing a custom-made property database which included all the bells & whistles like enquiry tracking,  and feeding other custom-made areas like the distributor area, CMS systems etc. In this period I was fortunate to become a “Team Interakt” member, what turned out to be a great in-depth training and the chance to collaborate with a wonderful bunch of folks.
