Get free LUTs for Premiere Pro.
Don’t you wish you could make your videos look like a Hollywood blockbuster? Well, that’s what LUTs are for. Transform your video’s color grades to add more depth to any project.
What are LUTs?
LUT is an acronym that stands for Look Up Table. They’re used to manipulate colors in your video and automatically adjust elements like saturation and contrast. Think of them almost like filters for your video project, designed to add a splash of your own unique style.
Where to find free LUTs for Adobe Premiere Pro.
When you’re working on a project, you can find your LUTs in the Lumetri Color tab under Basic Correction. Simply click the drop-down menu and select the LUT that works best for your project.
If you don’t have any, that’s okay. There are plenty of free LUTs for Premiere Pro that you can download straight from the internet. Save downloaded files to the LUTs folder on your computer, which should look something like this:
- C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Creative
- C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Technical
Once all your LUTs are in the folder, they should appear in the drop-down menu in the Lumetri Color tab. Just choose the one you want from the drop-down and it will be applied to the selected clip in your project.
Create your own free LUTs.
If you’re not a fan of downloading files from the internet, you can also create your own free LUTs for Premiere Pro. When you have your color grade just the way you like it, select the Lumetri Color pop-up menu and choose one of three options:
- Export .look (for use in Lumetri)
- Export .cube (for use in other grading applications)
- Save Preset
Now, you can use that awesome color grade you discovered for future projects.
