Note: In Chapter 3, "C-Level Extensibility," the path in which DLL files should be saved is incorrect. The "\Templates" directory is not part of the path.

PolyStar.jsfl download: The PolyStar.jsfl file provides an example of a tool for the Flash authoring environment that is implemented with the Flash JavaScript API. This file contains detailed comments to help you understand its code and is meant as a replacement for the PolyStar.jsfl file that is installed with Flash MX 2004. Instructions for installing the newer file are included in the JSAPI documentation.

C-level extensibility: The JSAPI provides a C-level extensibility mechanism that lets you implement Flash MX 2004 extensibility files using a combination of JavaScript and custom C code. You define functions using C, bundle them in a dynamic linked library (DLL) or a shared library, save the library in the appropriate directory, and then call the functions from JavaScript using the Flash JSAPI. This mechanism is described in Chapter 3, "C-Level Extensibility" in the JSAPI documentation.

The sample files discussed in that chapter, along with the mm_jsapi.h file that is required to implement C-level extensibility, are included in the Sample.zip and Sample.sit files below. Download the file that is appropriate for your platform.
