Creating a prepared statement that generates a recordset

To create a prepared statement that returns a recordset, use the Recordset (Query) server behavior. By design in JSP, this server behavior uses a prepared statement to generate recordsets.

1 Define a recordset as a data source for the page.
Open the Server Behavior panel (Window > Server Behaviors), click the plus (+) button, and choose Recordset (Query). Define the recordset using the simple or advanced Recordset dialog box. For instructions, see "Creating a Recordset" in UltraDev help (Help > Using UltraDev) or on page 125 of the Using Dreamweaver UltraDev manual.
2 Use the newly defined data source to add dynamic content to your JSP page.
Open the Data Bindings panel (Window > Data Bindings) and drag recordset columns to the page.
UltraDev inserts JSP code in your page that, when run on the server, creates a prepared statement object that queries the database.
