We've got a birthday cake with a festive backdrop and a text animation using motion presets.
Let's add some music and sync our animation to it.
I've trimmed down a song an imported it.
This birthday song contains a lyric which is the text that's animated.
Let's add this song to our timeline and sync up the animation with the music.
Make a new layer and drag the song on to the pasteboard.
It doesn't matter where you put it once it's dragged out from the Library it's Waveform appears in the layer.
To make the waveform easier to see right click on the layer open its Properties... and change the Layer height.
We can also widen the frames.
In the Properties panel in the Sound section set Sync to Stream.
When audio is set to Stream, Animate synchronizes it with the Timeline Setting it to Stream also lets you scrub the Timeline to hear the song.
Hit Enter to play the Timeline to see what we have.
All of our text animation happens at the same time, but we want to make each animated word sync up with the music.
The animated segments will match it better if we speed up their animations.
We can Shift Select to select all three layers at once place the cursor at the end of the spans and drag them to shorten the length.
When we make them 12 frames long the word IT’S finishes coming in just as the word is about to be sung.
Let's drag the YOUR span to come in the same way.
You can see in the Waveform about where that would be and drag the BIRTHDAY span just before it's sung.
Let's take a look.
All the words need to stay up through the phrase so select the last keyframe in all three layers and insert a keyframe by right clicking and selecting Insert Keyframe or by using F6.
It looks pretty good now.
We can combine synced text animations with camera moves to make a full-fledged kinetic type animation.
