How to change a font in Premiere Pro.
Not sure you like the fonts you chose for the text in your video? That’s okay. Here’s how to change fonts in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Use the Essential Graphics panel.
Whether you want to play around with different fonts to see what fits your project’s style or if you decide you don’t like your original font choice after the fact, changing the font on text in your video project is quite simple with Premiere Pro. All you need to do is follow these easy steps:
- Select the layer of the text you want to change.
- Open the Essential Graphics panel by selecting Windows then Essential Graphics.
- Use the drop-down under Text to change the font into a style that better suits your project.
Once you choose a new font from the drop-down menu, you should see the changes right away in your video.

There’s more to creating the perfect text overlay than just choosing the right font. Luckily, the Essential Graphics panel in Premiere Pro lets you change much more than just the font. You can also use the Essential Graphics panel to change other aspects of your text, including:
