Seit dem Release 2015 bietet Illustrator völlig neue Möglichkeiten für die Generierung von SVG-Code in hoher Qualität. SVG-Code eignet sich insbesondere für Web- und Mobile-Anwendungen.

1 Grafiken im SVG-Format exportieren.
Um Grafiken im SVG-Format zu speichern, wähle „Datei > Exportieren“ und als Format „SVG“.
Aktiviere das Kontrollkästchen „Zeichenflächen verwenden“, wenn du die Inhalte deiner Zeichenflächen als einzelne SVG-Dateien exportieren möchtest. Klicke auf „Exportieren“, um das Dialogfeld „SVG-Optionen“ zu öffnen.
Hinweis: Wenn das Kontrollkästchen „Zeichenflächen verwenden“ nicht aktiviert ist, wird die Darstellung der SVG-Datei durch die Begrenzungen aller Objekte im Dokument bestimmt.
2 Einzelne Komponenten exportieren.
Anstelle der gesamten Zeichenfläche kannst du auch einzelne Komponenten oder bestimmte Bereiche eines Designs in das SVG-Format exportieren.
Wähle hierfür den Bereich bzw. die Komponente aus, und wähle dann „Datei > Auswahl exportieren“ sowie das Format „SVG“.
3 SVG-Optionen eingeben.
Wähle in den „SVG-Optionen“ die für deine Grafik passenden Einstellungen für CSS, Schrift usw.
Aktiviere das Kontrollkästchen „Minifizieren“, um SVG-Code mit minimierten IDs, Einzügen, Zeilen und Leerflächen zu generieren.
Klicke auf „OK“.

Hinweis: Um die Datei weiterzubearbeiten, solltest du sie nach dem Export nicht erneut in Illustrator öffnen. Öffne stattdessen die ursprüngliche Illustrator-Datei (AI), und exportiere sie nach der Bearbeitung wieder in das SVG-Format.
