Author, interact and experience in mobile AR with the Aero system.

The Aero system is connected through Creative Cloud so you can author your work on the desktop app for macOS or Windows and then test, interact and experience your work on your own iOS device. It also makes importing assets from Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Substance 3D or third-party apps seamless.

Customise your reality.

Aero puts the power of AR authoring at your fingertips. Combine 3D, 2D and audio assets for multimedia experiences.

Easily add interactivity.

Add triggers such as start, touch and proximity to initiate actions for your assets. Then assign associated behaviours such as animate, spin and bounce to bring your experiences to life.

Set pathways for your animations.

Design animations and direct objects where to go by drawing a path in space with your mobile device.

Bring new depth to your PSD files.

See your artwork in a whole new way by importing your PSD layers into Aero and creatively spacing them out to add depth.

Add short-form spatial audio.

Import, manage and interact with audio assets (WAV and MP3) and make your experiences more immersive with sounds that can be triggered by proximity.

Adobe Aero is free, though you will need to create a log in ID.

Yes, you can make AR experiences that are viewable through mobile devices.

Yes, the Aero mobile app (iOS) and the desktop beta app (macOS and Windows) have similar capabilities in terms of feature functionality. The mobile app makes it possible to create AR in AR with the added contextural view of the front-facing camera.

Aero for desktop does not enable a real-time view of AR in AR because there is no front-facing camera on most desktop hardware. The desktop app does give you greater control for placement and adding complex sequences of interactivity to objects in your scene. The desktop environment also provides direct access to content being prepped on other desktop applications.

Viewers do not need to install an app. Viewers on recent iOS devices can view content in the Aero app clip without needing to install an app first.

Viewers who launch (or “invoke”) the app clip using one of the supported invocations are presented with an app clip card on their screen and can proceed to open the experience in the Aero app clip.

You can bring in your own photos, layered files, audio or other 2D and 3D content. Aero optimises imported PSD, JPEG, OBJ, GLB, FBX (on desktop), GIF, PNG Sequence, WAV and MP3 assets for AR. You can also bring in assets from Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Substance 3D Stager.

You can share AR experiences you create using Aero with stakeholders and reviewers using one or more of the following options:

  • Quick link (including QR code)
  • REAL
  • Image or video

To learn more about how to collaborate with others to edit your AR experiences, see Share your AR creations and Collaborate with others on Adobe Aero documents.
