Remove strokes and fills

You can remove individual strokes or fills from an object using the Remove Item button in the Object panel. This object no longer needs the original light-blue fill, so remove it.

1 In the Properties list of the Object panel, select Fill: Basic.
2 Click the Remove Item button.

The light-blue fill disappears from the Properties list.
The Properties list is hierarchical. Strokes and fills can appear anywhere in the hierarchy. Effects always start a new branch of the hierarchy. (You'll learn more about effects in the next lesson.) You can use the Remove Branch button to remove all the strokes, fills, and effects in a branch of the Properties list.
