After careful consideration and analysis of the marketplace, Adobe has decided to discontinue selling Adobe® Acrobat® Capture 3 as well as its associated add-ons, Acrobat Capture Dongles, and the Acrobat Capture Agent Pack. Since Acrobat Capture 3 was released in 2001, image-to-PDF conversion solutions have become commonplace on the market. The most frequently used functions, including image-to-PDF conversion and optical character recognition (OCR), are built into Adobe Acrobat desktop software and Adobe LiveCycle® PDF Generator ES2 server software.
Although Acrobat Capture 3 will no longer be available for purchase, Adobe will honor all upgrade and support commitments for this product.
- Customers who purchased Acrobat Capture Cluster Edition with the Upgrade Plan will receive a free single-CPU license of Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator ES2.
- Adobe will continue to honor all existing support agreements. Support will be discontinued at the end of your contract term, or on May 1, 2011, whichever date comes first.
