Add rain with the CC Rainfall effect
Apply the CC Rainfall effect to an adjustment layer to create realistic rain. Adjust the drop size, speed, and number of drops until you find the perfect look for your scene.
Create depth with background rain
Duplicate your adjustment layer and change the settings so the raindrops look smaller and further away, giving your scene more depth.
Keep rain behind your subject with a mask
Add a mask to hide background rain where it overlaps your subject. Use keyframes to adjust the mask as your subject moves, so the rain stays behind them.
