Vrstvy jsou jako průhledné složky na správu obsahu. Vrstvy konkrétního dokumentu naleznete v panelu Vrstvy (Okna > Vrstvy).
Vrstvy obsahují obrázky, text a části kresby uspořádané do rozvrstvené složky.
Vrstvy jsou uspořádány do stohu v panelu Vrstvy. V dokumentu se obsah vrstev, které se nacházejí v horní části panelu Vrstvy, zobrazuje před obsahem vrstev, které jsou v panelu umístěné níže.
Vrstvy umožňují přesouvat, skrývat, zamykat a upravovat obsah pouze na určité vrstvě, aniž byste zasahovali do obsahu v jiných vrstvách.
Pokud některou vrstvu chcete skrýt, klikněte na ikonu oka v panelu Vrstvy. Opětovným kliknutím vrstvu znovu zviditelníte.

Panel Vrstvy se obvykle nachází na pravé straně pracovní plochy. Pokud není vidět, otevřete jej příkazem Okna > Vrstvy.
Každý nový dokument začíná s jednou vrstvou s názvem Vrstva 1.
Pokud některou vrstvu chcete přejmenovat, poklepejte na její název v panelu Vrstvy, zadejte nový název a stiskněte klávesu Enter (Windows) nebo Return (macOS).
Nové vrstvy se vytvářejí tlačítkem Vytvořit novou vrstvu v panelu Vrstvy.
Vrstvy se vybírají tak, že na ně kliknete v panelu Vrstvy.
Přetažením vrstvy nahoru nebo dolů v panelu Vrstvy změníte pořadí vrstvených objektů v dokumentu.

Pokud chcete přesunout obsah z jedné vrstvy do druhé, v panelu Vrstvy vyberte obsah, který chcete přesunout, a přetáhněte barevný rámeček (takzvaný ukazatel výběru) napravo od názvu vrstvy nahoru nebo dolů na novou pozici.
Pokud některý objekt nemůžete najít v panelu Vrstvy, vyberte daný objekt v dokumentu a poté v dolní části panelu Vrstvy klikněte na možnost Najít objekt.
Pokud chcete skrýt jednotlivé objekty, v panelu Vrstvy klikněte na ikonu oka nalevo od jejich názvu.
